 The Director School Education, Jammu Anuradha Guptatoday kept the transfer ordered of six hundred teachers ordered by the Chief Education Officer, Jammu on August 23, 2019, in abeyance.

“The transfer/posting order issued by CEO, Jammu vide orderNo 57 CEO, J of 2019, dated 23.8.2019 is hereby kept in abeyance till further orders”, said Anuradha Gupta, Director School Education, Jammu. The reason behind temporary hold of his transfer order, the sources said that the transfer order has various discrepancies following which action has been taken.

They said that a lot of hue and cry was raised by department staff after six hundred teachers were removed in the mid-session without citing compelling circumstances. It is stated that many teachers were shifted without applying mind during mid-session, directly affecting students’ studies. Besides,the order has also violated government’s directions which were issued by the Advisor to Governor Farooq Ahmed Khan during the meeting held in the month ofJuly in Civil Secretariat, said official sources.

They said that in the meeting it was decided that the banwould come into operation after the process of rationalization is completed,which would be done by or before 15th August and thereafter there would be acomplete moratorium on the transfer of teaching faculty for the next twomonths.

Further, the fresh order from Director Education Jammu hasput the teachers under transfer into a dilemma as in the order it was notmentioned about the fate of those teachers who have joined their new place ofpostings.

Meanwhile, all joint director education, Jammu, PrincipalSIE, Jammu along with field advisors, all chief education officers of Jammudivision and all principal DIETS of Jammu division have been directed by thegovernment to attend the meeting to be held on 27.8.2019 at 11 am in theconference hall of PWD Dak Bungalow Gandhi Nagar Jammu to review the educationsector of Jammu division.
